A Limey In Bermuda is produced by Brit Phillip Wells. It began in August 2003, two months after he moved to Bermuda, as a way of chronicling his new life, but it quickly evolved into a more general forum for discussion. Today the site attracts between 80,000 and 100,000 page views per month.
Phil grew up in a village called Elloughton in Yorkshire in the UK.
After studying physics at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, he moved to the south-east of England in search of gainful employment.
Initially he spent about four years living in Reading whilst working for computer firm ICL in a variety of exotic locations ranging from Winnersh Triangle Industrial Estate to Hong Kong (which remains his favourite spot in the world to this day). Then came five years living in London whilst working as a software developer at first the BBC and then the investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
At the beginning of 2000 he met his wife, Mandy, a Bermudian, while swing dancing at the 100 Club in London. In June 2003 Mandy and Phil left the UK to emigrate to Bermuda and married at the end of September.
Phil now works as a software developer for a small investment management company in Hamilton.
Phil wrote a weekly column for Bermuda's only daily newspaper, The Royal Gazette, from January to October 2005.
When he's not blogging, Phil enjoys playing video games and photography.
