fcuk Bermuda
UK clothing retailer French Connection has just opened a brand-new two-level store on Reid Street, its first in Bermuda.
With its stylish decor and fashionable clothes its arrival delivers a blast of fresh air into Bermuda's often staid retail scene. Although some of the newer clothing stores, such as A.S. Cooper Man on Front Street, are nicely outfitted and sell trendy stuff, the old stalwarts Triminghams, Smiths and Coopers are looking decidedly dowdy. Hopefully the recent acquisition of Smiths by Triminghams will prompt a long-overdue revamp of those stores.
Still, I'm surprised French Connection have decided to open here. Bermuda's a conservative place, not somewhere you'd think would appreciate a store which markets itself using the provocative brand fcuk and sells cleverly-titled T-shirts bearing the slogans 'cool as fcuk', 'fcuk fashion' and so on. I predict a flood letters of complaint to the Royal Gazette before the month's out.
At least they appear to have tailored their products to the local market. The best slogan I saw on the T-shirts they're selling here?
'hot as fcuk'
I'm putting that on my Christmas list right now.

The FCUK store is -F**K -the brain child of a Frenchman. The Hornburg stores such as Calpso, Max Mara and Benentton are all the brainchild of the secretive Pierre who just so happens to race cars all over France when he is'nt opening some new retail store in Hamilton Bermuda---I guess you all must be thinking,"I'll be fcuked!" Amazing that a British Colony is being dressed by a Frenchman! Funky Wolf

That thing had been under construction/renovation for what seemed a long time. I looked at the sign, also surprised that they would allow this in town - but it just says "French Connection" (I didn't notice Gene Hackman anywhere).
I didn't go inside, but prior to the sign and clothes going up (which was incredibly fast after the building work was done - within a day I think, perhaps a weekend) I thought that it looked like clean lines that were more cosmopolitan than one usually sees in Bermuda.

Been there... done that. Nice store, but you would think if you open a store in Bermuda - only a few weeks before Xmas, that you would have more than one register at the front... sheesh... can anyone say line up? But I guess Bermudians are used to lining up for long periods of time... been to the bank lately?

okay am i the only person who thinks that the FCUK slogans aren't funny?
i mean, if you're gonna be offensive at least do it right:

its not "witty" to have a mispelt swear word on ur tshirt, so you might at well go over the top if you want to offend people or be controversial.

RG Porno Pg 2... 15 yr old girl flaunts bodily enticements to attract overaged men. The AME church should spend less time objecting to liquor licenses and devote more time on our declining moral status! Three cheers for Sunday School!!!
