Rats With Wings
Bermudian conservationist David Wingate is calling for new laws to tackle the rising number of pigeons in Bermuda.
Apparently a large number of pigeons could cause real problems because of the fact that the majority of houses here collect their domestic water through rainwater falling on the roof. Droppings from pigeons perched on the roof could lead to salmonella entering the household water supply.
Perhaps he should follow the example of London's mayor, Ken Livingstone. He has recently managed to rid Trafalgar Square of its pigeon population by, among other things, hiring a hawk to patrol the skies above.

Bermuda now has its very own "Dirty Birdies"---David Wingate's solution to everything seems to be a twelve bore shot gun! I think the US Army could use his bang bang experience in Iraq. We have not yet taken up the Trafalgar project of hiring a few Peregrine Falcons to deal with our Bermuda flying rat problem--but I have witnessed a hawk on winter holiday in Bermuda take a pigeon on the wing--so what about takeout chicken when you can have pigeon on the swoop. all the best Eagle Wolf^..^
