The Spousal Letter

Had a real shock today when my spousal letter arrived in the post.

I applied for it two weeks ago but wasn't expecting to hear anything back from immigration until March next year as the processing time is normally three months. Now I have it, it should stop the rubber-glove brigade at the airport paying me too much attention the next time I come back into Bermuda.

The only problem is that the letter refers to my wife as Amanda Dee Wells rather than Amanda Oatley Wells. Although technically correct (the deed poll which will change her middle name is still working its way through the tortuous legal process necessary for approval, which ironically could take until March), it's not a name that appears on any other piece of identification she carries, or ever will carry. Still, I expect the two names are close enough for it not to matter.

Well done Bermuda immigration, and thank you.

Hi,

Ok, this is totally unrelated to anything on this site, but I am trying to contact people I met in Bermuda 12 years ago when I was on a music course with the Menuhin Foundation & North Glos Schools Orchestra from the UK.

I am hoping Mandy might remember me... blonde, violinist, parents organised the trip..?

Anyway, say hi if you do.

Jules

P.S. I am getting married in October this year and planning that return trip to Bermuda.
