Cruising Into Spring

Like the return of the longtails, the return of the cruise ships to Bermuda is a sure sign that spring is in the air.

The first ship of the year docked in St. George's less than half an hour ago. It's a baby by cruise ship standards, just big enough for the Americans on their spring break holiday seeking a brief vacation in warmer climes. It's only staying for the day and will be gone by tonight.

Thankfully, the season doesn't really get going until April 20th. There may be the occasional ship between now and then, but that's when our porch will start to resemble a chimney again. I can hardly wait.

Given a choice of 70-80 degrees year round and summer cruise ships or wet and grey London, I think most of us would pick the former.

Heah Mr. Phil--soon I will call you sooty as thats what will be all over your porch and roof--not good for the water heah!!! Sooty man you live in a haze
Sooty man you must find the sunshine again
Maybe if you go over to St David's head
There will be a better place for your Sooty self
Oh the ships are in and I'm so Sooty all over again.^..^
