Frogs, Dogs and Mermaids
If you're remotely interested in art, do yourself a favour and check out the show now on at the Interim gallery.
'Frogs, Dogs and Mermaids', which opened on Friday, features a diverse array of work from three artists. Lindsey George is displaying eleven striking black and white clayboard portraits of the mythical frogfly, similar to the one pictured here. Helen Evans has fourteen gouache paintings, bright, whimsical and cartoon-like, most depicting the antics of her dog Hobbs. Michelle Lindo has eleven paintings in oil pastel, most of mermaids.
The tiny gallery is located on the north-east corner of the junction of King and Reid streets, and is open from Wednesday to Saturday between 10am and 3pm. All works are for sale, with prices ranging from $150 to $625. The show runs until May 17.

There are enough flying toads in Bermuda without going to a gallery to look at one....Now Mermaids...I've swam with a few and would prefer to keep those special memories to myself...When it comes to dogs...its a little close to home as some friends have had the nerve to sugest thats where I'm already headed....I think I'll roam down South shore instead to see who else I can bite ^..^

Hi Wolfie,
I read that article on the frogs and it is a mystery indeed.
What puzzles me is the dissapearance of our Toads,I recall about 35 yrs ago when I lived up top of Bostock Hill that it was a task to drive up after a rain shower to avoid running over the little critters, esp at night, I hated those awful popping sounds.
Has there ever been an explanation?
As our welfare is linked ecology ways it would be important to know.
I know that we have a disturbing ly high use of Herbicides, Pesticides etc.
The Toad contributes greatly in keepin the balance eating up a lot of troublesome insects etc.
I also note that the beautiful Cardinals are getting scarce too.
Watch out for the axeman going thru the woods to day Wolfie.

We have six 'Frogflys' by Lindsey George in the current show produced by BERMUDA SHOWCASE at The Lighthouse Restaurant. The show is called 'Art for Christmas Giving' and is a nice mixture by some of our artist friends. For more information go to: www.bermudashowcase.com
