TypeKey Support And Comment Moderation
I've just made a couple of small enhancements to the site.
First, I've added support for the TypeKey service, which provides blog readers with a central identity for posting comments on all TypeKey-enabled sites. While you will not need to register with TypeKey to continue commenting on this site, doing so offers several advantages. First, it stores your name, email and URL so you do not need to enter them every time you comment. Second, it centralises that information and gives you control over what is visible to others. For example, if you change your email address, or no longer want it to be public, you can change this yourself and only have to do so once. Third, private information submitted to TypeKey is governed by a privacy policy, something I do not offer. Moreover, it is still possible to comment anonymously using TypeKey.
I've also configured the site so that I can turn on comment moderation at any time. When enabled, this will require all comments to be explicitly authorised by me before they are published. I have no plans to turn on comment moderation all the time, however I may do so when I go on holiday. This will allow you to keep posting comments, even though they'll only appear on the site once I've approved them, which may not be until I return. (Normally, however, I suspend all commenting when I go away).
Update: Earlier I said that it was possible for me to grant trusted TypeKey users permission to post their comments directly to the site, even when comment moderation is enabled. This is incorrect. Currently all Typepad allows me to do is hold comments from untrusted users when moderation is turned off. Hopefully this will change in the future, however.

Well...thank God I'm a red neck.
Otherwise I wouldn't have understood that lot at all.
