It's not the cars

Fred Barritt doesn't subscribe to the orthodoxy that Bermuda has too many cars either.

"There are NOT too many cars in Bermuda... there is a traffic problem in Hamilton for six hours a day, five days a week. That’s less than 20 per cent of the time in less than 10 per cent of the Island – hardly a situation that calls for Draconian measures."

Quite. Mind you, there's nothing like the threat of having your car taken away to make you decide that perhaps the traffic's not that bad after all.

Hey,

Cars are a fad. I am waiting for the personal flying ship to wisk me from home to work in seconds. And roads would only be for those whole really wanna walk.

Can someone please tell me when we are going to get a ferry to St. George that will get residents to and from Hamilton during work hours???
I will be happy to save my seventy dollars in gas and twenty dollars in parking.

Cheers, I'm visiting bermuda from New York City for 3 weeks and I just got done peddling from Southhampton to Flats village. Bermuda doesn't have a traffic problem. And peddle biking is great in Bermuda -- cars give me lots of room as they pass. I usually spend an hour taking my wife from 91st street to 34th street in New York -- now THATS a traffic problem. And I peddle up and down 1st Avenue where I often hit the cabs with my hand when they get too close. So here it's easy.
