Competitive blogging

Singapore has just held the world's first inter-school blogging competition.

Jointly organized by the Education Ministry and Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), the country's biggest player in the telecoms market, the championship attracted more than 50 schools nationwide.

Five junior colleges and 20 secondary schools entered the final round, where their blogs were evaluated in terms of the depth and clarity of thought as well as the creativity of presentation by a panel...

Some 18,000 unique votes were cast by online readers for all the school blogs since the competition began on June 1.

What a great way to encourage kids to write, think and familiarise themselves with the Internet.
