2005 Captioner of the Year
It’s with great pleasure that I bring you the results of the first LiB Captioner of the Year Awards.
These prestigious awards are presented to those who have demonstrated outstanding ability to provide amusing strap-lines to pictures of the great and the good in this site’s weekly caption competitions.
The 2005 awards are based on caption competitions 1 through 32. Overall winners were determined by awarding points to the winners of each weekly competition as follows: 5 points for 1st place, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd and 1 point for an honourable mention.
So without further ado, I'm happy to announce Adjustah as the winner of this year’s Captioner of the Year. With 2 first place entries, 3 seconds, 4 thirds and 4 honourable mentions, Adjustah scored 38 points, a full 9 points clear of his nearest rival.
The award for most winning entries is shared by Yet Another Limey and Two Cents, who both scored 3 wins.
Best individual caption goes to Combat Banker for this entry. J Galt came a close second with this one.
Best photoshop entry goes to thisgrassman for his presentation of PLP Senator Lt. Col. David Burch as the New Confident Black Man.

Though I suspect I wouldn’t have done nearly as well if some people had kept the same pen name all year.

Agreed. As much as I enjoy the intellectual stimulation of the other threads, after a while as a constant diet it wears you down.
A little humour in everyday life is a must.
