Beat cop

Ilona Perry offers another explanation for the manpower shortage in the Bermuda Police Service:

"I was a member of the Bermuda Police Service for 2 years. I've been approached since I left in 1999, many times by young people who ask if they should join and ask for any advice I can give them. I tell them to forget about it, look into another career... The working conditions are dismal: useless equipment, disgusting offices (and the central station the worst of all) and the worst of all would be your co-workers.

The reason why I left is because I was physically attacked by my Sergeant."

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "beat cop".

:) That's what I should have named the blog entry! It's a very dysfunctional workplace to put it mildly- morale is in the toilet for a good reason. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy (well... maybe I would...)! :)
