Caption competition #50 winners

This week's LiB caption competition is now over.

Alex in Washington

The winners were:

First: Darkside -
"Take some more tea," the US Consul General said to Alex, very earnestly.
"I've had nothing yet," Alex replied in an offended tone, "so I can't take more."
"You mean you can't take less," said the British Ambassador: "it's very easy to take more than nothing."
"Nobody asked your opinion," said Alex.
"Who's making personal remarks now?" the British Ambassador asked triumphantly.
(Excerpted from the official text of "Alex's Adventures in Washington")

Second: Bill Akin - "Honest, it was the UBP that gave them the gunpowder."

Third: JJ - "Do you mind if I dunk?"

Honourable mentions:

Robespierre - Madame Tussaud's board of directors admire the latest addition to the "Insignificant World Politicians" exhibit.

Trebliso - Scott nervously ponders the consequences of the US adding "blundering incompetence" to the stop list criteria.

Full Fullish - Alex realised that he wasn't like anyone else is the room when it dawned on him that he was the only one without his legs crossed.

Adjustah - P' 'n' a cup...

Late submission I know, but...

Ambassador: "I truly am sorry that we are unable to offer you any light refreshments with your tea. We falsely assumed that one of your House Nigger representatives would have been here to rustle us up some scones and clotted cream."

Thanks for the nod, Limey!

BTW

"Why is a raven like a writing desk?"

Carroll's answer is:

"It is nevar put with the wrong end in front."

I would like to thank Walter B. Hayward, Hudson Strode, the Bermuda National Trust and the people of St. George for this signal ....... Umm Umm. Yes Dear just going out to mow the lawn now.
