Honourable mentions:

Mandy - Private third from left: Yeah, yeah. You thought my umbrella hat was so mug, but who's got the last laugh now?

All were very funny, but I'd have put Elvis at the top!

Uncle Elvis,

Well done....Looks like you should have won the "People's Choice" Award.

Although you have a distinct advantage over us plebs, you big computer nerd you !!

"Although you have a distinct advantage over us plebs, you big computer nerd you !!" Two Cents

Yes indeed Uncle E.

Athankya... athankya...

It's nice to be appreciated. I DID think that the other two were really funny, especially the Dick Cheney one!

2¢, with all the IT guys and computer freaks around here, I'M the computer nerd? *grin*

thanks for the vote of confidence Limey. i was a bit surprised too...feel like Geoff Ogilvy winning the US Open yesterday (unexpected and not the fan favorite). new to this site and having a good laugh at these caption contests...kudos for great entries all around .

Uncle E- laughed so much nearly stopped breathing! Called His Dad who wondered how you did it. He's a computer nerd too! Love anything with aliens. I do a long talk on the search for ET's so any reference to the subject gets my vote. Well done everyone else.

Uncle - ROFLMAO!! ;-) Nice one.

Thank you, Mum! It now no longer matters that I got third, as long as I made you laugh!
When're you coming down next? I know HE has banned us from meeting, but HE doesn't matter! We need to meet, I think.

As for how I did it, I'll do a quick run through:

-Opened in Photoshop.
-Copied to a new layer, so I'd have the original safe on its own layer.
-Used the Stamp tool to erase the body on the ground as best I could.
-Copied and pasted some of the feet over where they were hidden by the body.
-Copied one of the heads of the guys and pasted it onto the guys standing behind the passed out dude, then recoloured a bit and gave him a mustache.
-Copied another head from the crown and stuck it behind this to hide the original head.
-Copied and resized one of the other guys in line and made some small changes, then pasted him into where the passed out guy would have been.
-Save and close Photoshop.
-Open in Fireworks (a graphics program for web stuff. It's kinda like a cross between Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash)
-Saved the whole thing onto several frames, to play over a certain time, then just animated it, drawing in the tractor beam, moving the body, yadda yadda.

It was a whole lot of fun to do!

Hopefully, if HE deigns to put up another good picture for the Caption Competition, there'll be more!

Tell me, does yout talk on the search for ETs end with, "Um.. so, yeah... we.. uh.. haven't found any..."? *grin*

Lisa, Thank you, as well. It's always a pleasure to make the ladies laugh!

Uncle E - how long did it take to do the whole thing?
Great Monty Python piece.

First, that should be "head from the crowD", not "head from the crown"

Second, Smokes, about an hour or so...

I work quite fast when I'm not on a deadline! *grin*

Uncle E- thank you for the 'how to' instructions. His Dad said 'bugger' when he read you used Fireworks as we don't have it apparently. Will be over next March/April hope you won't be off the rock at that time! The talk ends- '-but in spite of the uncertainties left with "the conviction that there must be life out there beyond the dark."

Mum - sounds like the final speech at Bill Gates' retirement party:

"The talk ends- '-but in spite of the uncertainties left with "the conviction that there must be life out there beyond the dork."

THe frames can be all drawn in Photoshop if His Dad wishes, then put together in a GIF animator.

When you get down here, I'll give His Dad a tutorial! *grin*

SmokingGun- Great play on words!

Uncle E- His Dad may have a go at that. Looking foreward to the tutorial!
